Words from the Director

As I reflect on this past year, I am incredibly proud to share the impact of our inaugural Diamonds & Studs class—an extraordinary group of young leaders who have set a powerful standard for what this program represents and what it will become.

In just one year, these students have collectively contributed more than 1,300 volunteer hours to our community and raised over $110,000 in support of Home for Healing. Those numbers are impressive on their own—but what they truly represent is something far greater: compassion in action, leadership in motion, and a generation choosing to invest their time and energy in something bigger than themselves.

From the very beginning, our vision for Diamonds & Studs was not to create just another student program, but to build something that stands apart. We intentionally designed an experience that offers opportunities most students would not typically have access to. Throughout the year, participants engaged in meaningful service, hands-on learning experiences, and educational sessions led by respected professionals in healthcare, leadership, and community impact. These moments were created to broaden their perspective, deepen their understanding of service, and equip them with tools that will shape how they lead in the future.

The response has exceeded every expectation.

We reached full capacity, selling out all 64 student spots before our official deadline, and, for the first time, established a waitlist of students eager to join the program. That level of demand speaks volumes. It tells us that young people are not only willing to serve, they are actively seeking opportunities that challenge, inspire, and connect them to purpose.

What makes me most proud, however, is not just what these students accomplished, but how they accomplished it. They showed up. They leaned in. They gave of themselves with intention, humility, and heart. They embraced the mission of Home for Healing and became ambassadors of compassion for families walking through some of life’s most difficult moments.

This inaugural class has laid the foundation for something truly special. They have helped define the culture, the expectations, and the impact of Diamonds & Studs, and because of them, the future of this program is incredibly bright.

To each of these students: thank you for your leadership, your generosity, and your belief in what we are building. You are not only changing lives today, you are shaping the future of our community. And we are just getting started.

With gratitude,
