Guest Spotlight

Ben and Aryionna have been married for 4 years.  They got married at 16 and 17 before having children.  Including Anastasia, they have 2 other beautiful children who are three and one. Anastasia was born in August 2023 with a heart defect.  Basically, she had a hole in her heart.  Her surgeons had to reconstruct a wall in her tiny heart resulting in long hospital stays.

Before Home for Healing, they were constantly driving back and forth from Conway to hospitals who would sometimes give them hotel stays.  It was always a constant guessing or waiting game. Ben and Aryionna's journey has been filled with challenges, especially with the health issues surrounding their daughter Anastasia. The burden of constant hospital visits and the emotional toll of seeing their child undergo surgeries must have been overwhelming. However, the introduction of Home for Healing into their lives seems to have brought a sense of normalcy and peace.

Anastasia's progress and the positive impact of the surgeries on her health are heartening. She is now off most medications and tubes, and experiencing improvements in her breathing and heart rate, is a testament to the resilience of the family and the support they've received.

The relief from the constant guessing and waiting game, as well as the convenience of having a kitchen to cook meals, provided a much-needed sense of stability for the family. The emotional and practical support received from Home for Healing seems to have played a crucial role in their well-being.

The family's gratitude is evident in their praise for the facility and its staff. The respect and kindness they've encountered, as opposed to feeling like mere kids in other places, have undoubtedly contributed to their sense of security and comfort. The ability to come and go freely, especially during late-night visits with Anastasia, adds to the familial atmosphere that Home for Healing provides.

The availability of resources, from basic necessities like clothes to unexpected perks like haircuts, further highlights the comprehensive support system in place. It seems that Home for Healing has not only become a haven for recovery but also a place where the family can bond, heal, and temporarily escape the challenges they face.

Our Volunteers

A special thanks to ALL of the incredible volunteers from the Young Men's Service League, Holy Soul's Men's Club and Settled Souls that were here last weekend. 🙌 YMSL worked tirelessly to move in 30 new mattresses for our amazing guests!!! The Holy Soul's Men's Club and Settled Souls took the donated mattresses to help furnish apartments for previously homeless clients. Win! Win!

Words from our Director

Our no cost lodging initiative is a unique and unrestricted retreat for cancer patients and parents or caregivers for NICU babies or ICU patients, breaking away from the norms by removing distance and financial barriers. Our inclusive approach sets us apart, allowing independent stays with a doctor's endorsement for patients capable of self-care. The absence of check-in and check-out restrictions allows our guests to stay as long as needed. The forward-thinking vision of our board, always open to change to serve the community better, has expanded our reach. This flexibility has proven vital, enabling us to support a broader range of cancer patients in central Arkansas who might not otherwise have had access to treatment.

We are grateful for the opportunity to make a difference and remain committed to providing an open, adaptable environment for those facing the challenges of cancer.

Sincerely,
