Guest Spotlight
Asa and Trinity have been happily married for a little over 16 months and are excited about the prospect of starting a family, all while cherishing their time together. Asa is particularly grateful for his wife and enjoys drawing, music, and video games, with chess being his favorite pastime.
On November 17, 2023, Asa was diagnosed with adenoma, a tumor on his pituitary gland. He describes feeling sluggish and off-balance now, a stark contrast to his previous adventurous and active self. Despite losing some hair, he’s thankful to keep his eyebrows and feels positive about his treatment. Thankfully, instead of undergoing all his treatment at the hospital, he can take pills for five days each month from the comfort of home for the last three months of his care.
They have greatly appreciated their time at Home for Healing, finding it peaceful, relaxing, and convenient. With their own quiet space and no noisy neighbors, they felt a true sense of community through interactions and events that made it feel like home. The staff was consistently helpful, day or night, making them feel comfortable and supported. Asa and Trinity see the guest experience and staff at Home for Healing as a true answer to their prayers, helping to make a daunting experience much less frightening. They hope for more people with a heart of gold who are willing to spread kindness to others.

Meals and Soups
A huge THANK YOU to Scallions! Their generous donation of chicken and rice casserole, cheese soup, and black bean soup made a wonderful difference for our guests. We keep pre-portioned meals in our freezer, free for our guests, and it really eases their burden to have delicious and healthy food available.
If you, your business, your church group, friends, pickleball team, etc. would like to cook for the home, please contact Trudy or Megan @501.978.2900 for more information!
We had a GREAT 3rd annual “Grill & Chill” on Thursday, September 12th. What made it extra special was having 2 former guests, Whiskey Bender and her family and NICU patient Ezekial and his family, join us. They both returned for follow-up appointments and received positive news from their respective clinicians. Additionally, we had 2 guests join and 6 members of The 4300 Club in-person. We served hamburgers, hot dogs and had a great time. In the past, we’ve turned on music but this year the crowd was so boisterous and conversation so lively we didn’t even miss ambient sound.😀
Our 4300 Club October event is a membership outreach event at “Serve the Rock”, hosted by the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce. Join us Thursday, October 10th for the “non-profit job fair” as I call it. Advanced tickets are $15 and $20 at the door. There will be a Battle of the Banks cook-off and drinks for anyone that attends. If any board member or representative from Home for Healing would like to join at the table to share about the organization’s mission, they can email me and I’ll coordinate. For any additional questions please contact Daniel at DFrazier@uams.edu.
Home for Healing relies entirely on the generosity of our community through grants, sponsorships, and donations. This support enables us to offer free lodging and ensure that housing is never a barrier to accessing essential treatment.
To help us continue our mission, consider making a donation or sponsoring one of our events. We are constantly in need of supplies to enhance the comfort of our guests, many of whom arrive on short notice with minimal belongings.
Your contribution of $100 makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. Thank you for your support!

Words from our Director
October is an incredibly busy and exciting time at Home for Healing as we gear up for Monster Bash, our biggest fundraiser of the year. This event is special not only because of the fun and festivities but also because of its impact on so many people who benefit from our amazing volunteers' dedication and hard work.
If you’ve never attended, I encourage you to mark your calendar—it’s a must-see! Year after year, I hear it’s one of the best nonprofit events around, known for being a blast to attend. With great food and drinks, an incredible live auction, and an out-of-this-world costume contest, Monster Bash is the perfect mix of fun and purpose.
Like many nonprofits, we’re facing challenges this year due to the uncertainties of an election year. However, the vital services we provide cannot afford to slow down. Countless individuals rely on Home for Healing, and we remain dedicated to meeting their needs.
Can’t make it to Monster Bash? No worries—you can still support Home for Healing! You can participate by bidding on our silent auction items, donating, purchasing raffle tickets, or even bidding by proxy on one of our fabulous live auction items. Your support, in any form, makes a massive difference in helping us continue our mission.
